At the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show models were wearing "sexy" clothing reflecting Native Americans and Cowboys. One outfit worn by model Karlie Kloss was a Native American headdress that was meant to represent the month of November but sadly ended up offending Native Americans and many others.
"We have gone through the atrocities to survive and ensure our way of life continues," Navajo Nation spokesman Erny Zah has stated in an interview recently. "Any mockery, whether it's Halloween, Victoria's Secret- they are spitting on us. they are spitting on our culture, and it's upsetting."
So obviously Victoria's Secret was obliged to apologize - "We sincerely apologize as we absolutely had no intention to offend anyone," They have also said they will not show the outfit in future broadcasts.
However this was a learning experience for some, and not for others who disagreed and think no apology was necessary. Everyone that did agree learned that it is always a horrible idea to wear a Native American headdress...
